Remember the meltdown that Ross was having in F.R.I.E.N.D.S when he discovered that his “Best Friend Joey” and his ex-girlfriend Rachel are willing to be in a relationship?!
Well even if you don’t then I certainly do because it was Ross who inspired me to stir up a pitcher of Margaritas and binge watch the next few episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S.
And I’m planning exactly this to do again on this 22nd February, celebrating Margarita Day, binge-watching F.R.I.E.N.D.S, it can’t go any better for me, but what are your plans?
Mark this day guys, 22nd Feb, Friday is the day to celebrate and get shaken by literally shaking up some dirty margaritas!
Let’s not get into the details of who invented this Happy Hour drink because trust me you don’t want to be a part of that debate, it’s a never-ending one.
Instead, focus on how you’re going to celebrate this weekend when it has something special to offer you and that is Margarita Day on a Fridayyyyyy!!!
A good day to celebrate on this weekend with your BAE or with your friends, or both, choose your pick and let’s get started.
There are various restaurants around you which are going to offer amazing discounts on Margarita Day on 22nd Feb, but I say guys let’s be cozy in the home itself and rip up an amazing pitcher!
Here I’m mentioning all the details about what all you will need for this happy drink along with the best offers to get you all of the ingredients at a discounted rate.
There is another twist when you think about Margaritas, as you can have them:
1. On the Rocks
Where you mix your drink with ice cubes and serve it in a cocktail glass with a salt rim. (Shaken with Ice)
2. Frozen Margarita
In this, instead of mixing your margarita you blend it with ice till your drink gets frothy. (Blended with Ice)
3. Straight up
This type of margarita is preferred by many people in cold weather where you don’t require any ice, but make sure that your margarita is a bit cold because consuming hot spirits is not the best option. (Without Ice)
So now that you have your pick from the above 3 types of Margaritas let’s start making them.
For ingredients to make a simple classic Margarita (Which is the best One, easy to make and loved by all) you will require:
|Tequila||2 oz||10 oz|
|Fresh Lime Juice||1 oz||5 oz|
|Orange Liqueur||A Dash||½ oz|
|Sugar Syrup/ Agave||A Dash||½ oz|
|Lemon Wheels||To Garnish||To Garnish|
|Kosher Salt||As Required||As required|
If you find that tequila is a bit costly and will be a burden on your pocket especially when you’re hosting a party then you can simply replace tequila by vodka, visit Target to buy Vodka at discounted rates.
Note: Though liqueur delivery might not be available in all the areas so you can check out the pick-up + discount section.
Fresh Lime Juice
It is always better to squeeze in some fresh lemons rather than having a packed bottle for the same.
Fresh lemons taste way better in a tequila than the processed ones so visit Instacart and get discounts and special coupons on your grocery purchasing, you might get some amazing offers on liqueurs as well.
Orange liqueur is strong so if you’re making a margarita for yourselves then you need just a dash of the same. You can choose from the 2 mentioned brands which are preferred by most margarita lovers so check out Grand Marnier and this other option of Cointreau Orange Liqueur as well.
If you don’t want to go with the previous option of agave then you can simply buy Powell & Mahoney Simple Syrup for your margarita.
It can be used in various cocktails but the best use is when you want to have a dirty margarita so check out Kosher Salts at Target or this other offer at Walmart and choose the one that you like better according to your taste or pocket size.
To Note: Make sure that you take out the salt in a shallow plate and do not directly use the salt at the rim of your glass from its packet.
Take out only the quantity that you think will be consumed at once, this will help in avoiding wastage as the salt gets wet.
If you think the glass option is a bit much (Speaking money wise) and you want to go for an even cheaper version which will not break when you are drunk then check this option of Disposable Plastic Margarita Glasses.
But if you plan on having more than 1 drink then these Mason Jars will be the best option for you as you won’t have to go through the pain of pouring your drink again and again.
If you feel like adding a little flavor to your drink and having more than just a classic margarita then check out these mixes at Target, it offers at the best discounted rates.
An item which is a must-have in your list, if you occasionally love mixing up some cocktails then check this amazing Houdini Cocktail Shaker and order a cocktail shaker for yourselves.
If you’re making cocktails for the first time then check out this Stainless Steel Cocktail Shaker as these are the sturdy ones and won’t break even if you drop them!
The END (Almost):
When talking Margaritas, it’s easy to get confused in deciding salt versus no salt; blended or frozen; triple sec, Cointreau or Grand-Marnier.
If you take my opinion, this classic margarita version is the tried, tested and true recipe for the best Margarita you can make. Memorize it, and you’ll always impress.
But you need to be careful as Tequila has been known to T’kill’ya if you drink too much, or at least it may make you wish you were dead.
Don’t worry, I know you will be careful.
So, spin up some margaritas on 22nd Feb for you and your friends and while you do that you can order some food as well.
Trust me you don’t want to have an empty stomach and get a solid hangover the next day.
If you don’t feel like cooking then order some food from Caviar with some head-spinning offers. (While the food delivers your head might already be spinning and that’s the dirty margarita speaking.)
Remember guys, NEVER drink and drive, stay at home and order some food delivery.
If you still get a headache the next morning then make sure that you keep some lemon aside and fix yourselves a Fresh Lime Soda or a nice coffee or tea.
Whatever it might be just make sure that you enjoy Margarita Day to the fullest and click a pic of your margarita, post it on social media and use #NationalMargaritaDay!
